Innings: Test Cricket · Android & Android TV
A Test cricket game, one ball at a time.
Innings is a cricket batting game for Android built around the long format: one batsman, five days, and every ball a decision. Read the length and the line, pick your shot, and time it — while the captain moves his field to wherever you just scored. It plays offline, with no ads and no purchases.

Test cricket the way it is meant to be played
Most cricket games on a phone are built for T20: a six every ball and a match in five minutes. Innings is the other game. You bat, and the rest of the match is played for you. The bowlers read the pitch and the weather, the captain sets traps, and a good ball is a good ball whether it is the first over of the morning or the last before stumps. Survive the new ball, build an innings, and cash in when the bowlers tire and the pitch wears.
Read the ball
Pace, swing, seam, off spin and leg spin. The seam is canted the way the ball will move, and from the bounce to the bat is under a third of a second — so you read it early or not at all.
Pick the stroke
Defend, attack or loft, then the shot: straight drive, cover drive, on drive, square cut, upper cut, pull, sweep, flick and more. The wrong shot to the wrong ball edges, as it should.
A captain who answers back
Score through cover and a fielder goes to cover. Bowlers aim where they can get you out, and the side you face is picked for the pitch.
Pitches that change
Six grounds — Riverside, Ironbark Oval, Red Earth, The Flats, The Maidan and Kiln Oval: green and damp, hard and fast, dry and turning. Day four does not play like day one, and an old ball on a bare pitch starts to reverse.
A cricket career, from Class A to a Test cap
Create your batsman and play for any of nine countries. The career has four rungs — Class A, the domestic game, an A tour, then the Test side — and you are ranked against every other batsman in the competition on runs. Only two go up from each level, so a good average is not enough: somebody has to have made fewer runs than you.
At the top is a World Test Championship: fifteen Tests against eight other nations, ranked on the percentage of points won, and the top two play a Final.
Quick play, challenges and the nets
Play a single Test in quick play. Take on a challenge — The last pair, The nightwatchman, Save the follow-on — where the match is set and the situation is yours to get out of. Or go to the training net, set the bowler, the length and the line, and practise one thing at a time. Between overs there is a recap, a wagon wheel and a full scorecard.
